LIP AUGMENTATION

Lip augmentation, also known as lip plumping, is achieved using injectable filler. The injectable filler smoothes out the lines on the lips and around the surrounding skin area. Lip filler can be used to highlight the lips and rejuvenate aging lips. It has rapidly become one of the leading injectable filler non-surgical treatments. Lip filler is created from a hyaluronic acid base, which means the product will metabolize and disappear over a number months. Hyaluronic acid is a safe and naturally-occurring sugar already found in our bodies. For patients who have had an unfortunate injection experience elsewhere and need it to be addressed, Dr. Villalobos can use hyaluronidaise to break down the dermal filler within an hour. This can quickly and easily correct poorly-injected hyaluronic acid dermal filler. Following lip augmentation, clients usually find they are able to immediately return to their normal daily activities but may experience swelling for 1 to 2 days. Slight swelling may remain, but is typically gone within 7 to 10 days. Small bruises may also occur around the injection site, but these are easily covered with makeup or are barely noticeable. One way to reduce the possibility of bruising is to avoid any blood thinning products, such as aspirin, ginseng, and Vitamin E for 1 to 2 weeks before your lip filler treatment.
